Clubs at Northeastern

Northeastern has a TON of clubs for students to join - there are over 400 registered this year! Although that may sound a little overwhelming, it really means that you can find a club that feeds into an interest you already have, or you can use them to find something new!

A great way to navigate through all the clubs is through going on this website: https://neu.campuslabs.com/engage/

It's a super great resource that clubs post their events on, and they are able to tell you what their mission is. You can also request membership on these pages, which is a great way to keep track of your activities, request service hours, and get on the organization's mailing list.

You can also look at this website, which has the clubs organized by general category: https://studentlife.northeastern.edu/explore-student-life/#_ga=2.109755845.1513993154.1664048482-1605851553.1663534655

Some organizations require applications and dues, such as sororities and pre-professional fraternities. Many students like joining clubs related to their major so that they can become connected to students with similar goals and have direct access to helpful resources. For example, I am a member of the pre-dental association, and we are having admission consults with a member of the admissions team at BU'S dental school, something that I would not be able to organize myself.

There are many organizations that also help students become involved with the Boston community through service, such as my club, Big Sister Boston Northeastern! BSBN serves as a club that works with the international organization, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and our mission is to empower female youth through creating positive mentorship relationships.

There are also clubs that cater to special interests, such as the mural club, downhill skiing club, and dance clubs. There are also clubs connected to student government, student newspaper, and other resources on campus.

Many clubs also offer students an opportunity for leadership, such as through serving on the board as a secretary, treasurer, or president. Many clubs are primarily student-run, and students are very passionate about them.

Hope that was helpful!

Until next time,

Marcie :)
